I’ve been staring at this screen for far too long, trying to come up with the words that adequately describe how epic these apples rings are, and I got nothing!
You’ll just have to try them for yourself! Here’s the totally simple process that will have you loving apples in a whole new way!
And while we’re at it, can we get a round of applause for Panko Crumbs..taking crispy to another level since..umm, a long time ago! 😉
Let me just start by saying that maybe, just maybe.. I could have been a bit more ladylike in my drowning, drizzling of syrup onto these unbelievably scrumptious and crunchy apple rings, however I was home alone..and it was so worth it!
Yes..I used a fork! 🙂
By all means, feel free to make your mother proud..and apply a more socially acceptable amount of syrup onto your apples, if you so choose! 🙂
What you’ll need:?
Simple breading station! |
1 medium apple per person (any variety)
2 cups flour
cinnamon/sugar mixture..added to the flour, as much as you like!
Maple Syrup-the amount is up to you!
Directions:
Core your apple and slice it into 1/2″ slices.
Set up a “breading station” Bowl #1-Flour (with the cinnamon &sugar mixture),Bowl #2-The beaten eggs, Bowl #3-the Panko

Ready for their amazing make-over in the oven! |
? ??
Dip each apple slice into the flour, then into the eggs, then the Panko…that order is VERY important!
Make sure that they get fully coated in each bowl, so the Panko can cover as much of the apple as possible!
Lay them on a rack, over a baking sheet!
(see pic)——–>
Bake them at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, or until golden and crispy..keep checking!
Serve with some maple syrup, or caramel sauce, or a dusting of powdered sugar, or…BACON!!
The way you decide to actually get these into your mouth (fingers vs. fork) is a very personal choice, whatever way you choose, own it..lol!
I hope you’ll love them as much as I did! ~Enjoy 🙂

*HINT* For breakfast/brunch, you can add some Oats to the Panko!!
