First of all, let me just say, that if you do nothing else, make nothing else, eat nothing else..you have GOT to make this Tomato Soup Bread! It is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever had..seriously! You will feel like an adult 6 year old…lol! It’s warm, comforting and scrumptious and filled with Tomato Soup!
Then..OH, Lordy..then, when you add those classic American Cheese slices and make Grilled Cheese sandwiches out of the Tomato Soup Bread…you’ve died a delicious death, and come back for more within 2 seconds..it’s a miracle!
Every grandma up in heaven AND here on Earth, with be shining golden rays of happiness and joy upon us as we relive our childhood in the most magical and updated way ever! Do it! 🙂
What you’ll need:
(2) 10 oz. cans of Tomato Soup
1-1/2 cups of self rising flour
Slices of American Cheese…approx. 8-10 per loaf
A small bread/loaf pan
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix up the soup and the flour until well combined!
Put the batter into a sprayed loaf pan (I used a small loaf pan, so the bread would be nice and tall)
Bake it at 350 for approx. 20 minutes, or until it’s firm throughout and darker in color…
Take it out and let it cool almost all the way…
Now, place the bread loaf onto a sheet pan, and gently slice the bread, making sure NOT to go all the way through to the bottom. Add one or two slices of the cheese into the bread…
Put it back into the oven for a few more minutes, or just until the cheese is all melty, gooey and scrumptious! You can also toast individual slices of the bread and top it with anything you’d like..YUM!
Slice it up, pull it apart..or just rip at it, but get that warm, soupy, cheesy bread into your mouth…
This will still go great with a nice, hot bowl of Tomato Soup..lol! ~Enjoy! 🙂
