Sometimes the simplest recipes are the best aren’t’ they?! I wanted to jazz up some baked potatoes and Hasselback style is one of my faves..you just can’t beat all of those thin, ‘chip-like’ crispy slices that become a blank slate for anything and everything yummy.
And just LOOK at how gorgeous they are…
This time I thought some rich, dark gravy would be the perfect addition to all of those scrumptious layers, and Ohh..was it ever! The potato slices all became so flavorful and tender with the warm drizzles of gravy! The perfect addition to your holiday table!!
~You can add any kind of gravy you like, I even entertained the idea of some Breakfast Hasselbacks with a white peppered gravy and sausage finding their way into those lovely layers. Maybe next time! 🙂
What you’ll need:
Medium/large potatoes..your fave variety will work!
Gravy..your fave gravy will work!
Butter for basting and salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
This is just a method..not a recipe, so feel free to make these your own, and share them with me on social so I can drool at your variations! 🙂
Simply slice your clean potatoes very thin, making sure not to go all the way through the bottom.
Brush them with some melted butter or olive oil and bake them at 350 for a good 45-50 minutes, ir until they’re tender and golden…
Keep basting them periodically throughout the cooking process.
Let them cool a bit, and gently spread them open…now is a good time to season them up if you’d like!
Now gravy those babies up!
And dig IN! ~Enjoy! 🙂
