Do you ever find yourself wondering what it would be like to combine some or ALL of your favorite breakfast foods into one, easy to eat, handheld feast of fabulousness? No, you say~ well..let me give you a glimpse into the way my mind works, and don’t expect too much..it’s basically all based upon laziness! 😉
First of all there’s the dirty dish factor. Why do we need to dirty up 20 thousand different dishes just to get our day started? I mean..ain’t nobody got time for that.
Sooo..putting our morning meal on a stick was the first task I needed to master. Once that was done, I knew that I really didn’t want to spend my valuable morning minutes standing over a stove mixing, flipping, plating, and serving a bunch of people who wouldn’t even remember all of my effort by the time lunch rolled around. So ‘simple’ was mandatory, I’m talking TWO ingredients mandatory!
Yet, it still needed to be impressive enough to shut everyone up and get them out of my hair, or they’d all just be back in the kitchen 20 minutes later “looking for something else to eat” ~~
~And so I conceived and brought to life these little cinnamon roll wrapped sausage breakfast beauties..that are also um..dah-ripping in frosting..that’s right! Everyone was happy, I had no dirty dishes, and as far as I could tell…everyone was super impressed! Netflix & couch..here I come! 🙂
What you’ll need for 4 Breakfast Dogs:
1 4 pack of PRE-COOKED breakfast sausage, I used an Apple variety. I‘m a fan of always using pre-cooked meats when possible, but it’s your choice!
1 (8 count) Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with enclosed frosting
Sticks
Directions:
Slice the cinnamon rolls into long strips, by following the natural curve of the roll…
Wrap the rolls around the sausages (two rolls per sausage for maximum coverage)…
Insert the sticks and bake them on a sheet pan for approx. 12-15 minutes, or until they’re golden…
Let them cool a bit…
Then FROST those beauties…
Serve them up to your most favorite people…
Or you just might eat them all yourself…
Not that there’s anything wrong with that..lol! ~Enjoy! 🙂
