Well, I’m one step closer to convincing myself that I should be a state fair concession booth owner, my friends. My dream gets closer to reality with each and every horrifying, dangerously delightful concoction I pull out from the scary depths of my gray-matter.
No joke~ every year around this time, I’m secretly jealous of anyone who gets to work that midway magic, serving all of you.. one gloriously greasy bite at a time.
Here I give to you.. DEEP. FRIED. HOT. CHEETOS. Yep!~ Someone was gonna do it, so I figured it might as well be me, right!?
Yes..I’m talking about a sticked & stacked kabob of flamin’ hot cheetos, lightly battered and fried to an ungodly golden crisp.. all pushed over sanity’s edge with a deep plunge into some warm melted cheese, you know ~ just in case you weren’t self-hating enough yet. Ohh LAWD!
If I told you these are actually delicious, I’m not sure you’d believe me.. but they are! …and should totally be at every state fair from now on!
Something about the light and crispy fried crunch on the outside, somehow transforms the Cheetos into a brand new experience. Spicy, with a toasty kick, and fun flavor.. only made better by globs of cheesy cheese sauce.. They’re honestly delicious! 🙂
~MAKE LOTS!
What you’ll need:
Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.. PUFFS! .. If they’re a bit stale, they will work better.. and be easier to get onto the sticks.
Cheese sauce for dipping
corn dog sticks.. one per serving
Directions:
Twist some of the Cheetos onto your stick, kind of like gently turning them as you work them downward.
Put them into the freezer for at least 1 hour.
Prepare the batter by mixing all of the batter ingredients until smooth.
Now take one stick out of the freezer at a time, and coat it with the batter…
Into the hot (350 degree) oil, until they’re evenly golden…
Serve them up with some cheese dip… because, um… CHEESE dip!
And DIG IN! ~Enjoy! 🙂
