How much fun are corn dogs? Like you just can’t go wrong with deep fried deliciousness on a stick?! ..right?!
Lately (since the state fair is making its comeback) I’ve been ‘corn dogging’ all kinds of stuff.. and let me just say.. OMG YUM! First of all, corn bread batter literally makes anything taste better, and second of all… uhmm.. FRIED goodness on a stick! 🙂
This time, I thought “hmmm.. why not ‘corn-dog’ a Snickers bar? And what started out as that simple, innocent thought, has lead us here.. together, right now.. and turned into one of the best things I’ve ever had in my mouth!
OH YEAHhh~ This little treat needs to go on your fried food bucket list! You just haven’t lived until you’ve tasted toasty corn bread batter, deep fried, and lovingly wrapped around a hot, melty, to-die-for Snickers. There’s just nothing like it!
In a matter of minutes, you can enjoy that state fair flavor and feeling deep inside your soul~ and as a bonus.. NO long lines!
~Make LOTS!
What you’ll need for 6-8 snickers corn dogs:
6-8 regular size Snickers
1-8.5 oz. box of corn bread mix
1/4-1/2 cup cream or water
oil for frying
powdered sugar for topping.. optional
corn dog sticks
Directions:
gently insert the sticks into each Snickers, making sure not to poke through.
Freeze them for approx. 1 hour to overnight
prepare the batter according to the box instructions, and coat the frozen snickers…
fry them up one at a time in the hot (350 degree) oil, until evenly golden…
serve them nice and warm, with some powdered sugar on top…
