Ohhh yeah!! I had to go and take the one and only bacon recipe, that maybe..just maybe could qualify as somewhat “healthy”, and turn it into a cheesy, ooey- gooey dip that requires many varieties of other unhealthy foods just to get it into our mouths!
Actually, I did serve it with some celery, for the crazy people health conscious.
The celery was there mostly for all of us girls, who believe that if there’s celery on, near or around the table, everything else becomes instantly healthier for us!
Needless to say, all the celery was left over..lol 🙂
This dip is a winner, and a must serve for any football game, or get together!!
What you’ll need:
2-8oz. packages of cream cheese
1 cup mayo
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 cups fresh, chopped tomatoes
1lb. crispy bacon
1 packet of Ranch Dressing powdered mix
8 slices of white bread, diced
1 tbsp. melted butter
1 small bag of pre-shredded lettuce (or you can shred your own)
Directions:
In a large microwave safe bowl, soften cream cheese for about 45 seconds. Add the mayo, cheese, 3/4 of the bacon and ranch dressing mix, combine until smooth. Spread into a 9×13″ baking dish, and top evenly with the bread cubes. Drizzle the bread with the melted butter and bake at 375 for about 15minutes, or until it
it’s bubbly and golden brown. Let it cool for just a few minutes, top with the remaining bacon, then add the shredded lettuce, topped with the tomatoes around the border! Serve with chips, mini toasts, veggies or crackers.
This is an over-the-top dip, loved by all!! Make some soon! ~Enjoy! 🙂
If I may make a suggestion? When I make a BT dip, 48 hrs before I will fry the bacon until crisp and add it straight to the mayo that I will use. Breaking it up in the bowl while mixing the two. Cover and let sit in the fridge so that the mayo absorbs the bacon flavor.
Just stumbled across this recipe. Sounds delicious! BTW, you’re funny!
