Just when you think you have almost everything in life figured out. Just when you think you’ve seen it ‘all’…along comes something, so simple, so amazing and so surprising, that it gives you a renewed sense of hope for the future and all of the delicious discoveries it can bring! 🙂
Does this all seem a bit too deep for a simple Strawberry…haha?!! Well…normally it would be however, not for these Strawberries!
Each one of these lightly crunchy, toasty sugared, plump, warm and juicy Strawberries holds the key to happiness. YES~ we have found the meaning of life! RIGHT. HERE..haha! 😉
What you’ll need for ultimate mouth happiness (and about 10-12 medium sized, candy coated Strawberries…lol)
Fresh Strawberries…approx. 10-12 medium
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup water
A skewer for each Berry
Wax Paper for drying them
Directions:
In a medium pot combine the Sugar and the water…
Stir it once to blend the sugar, then let it simmer until it’s a light golden color..
Insert a skewer into the stem end of each Strawberry, making sure it’s in there nice and snug…
Take the hot sugar off of the heat.
Roll each Strawberry around in the melted Sugar until it’s evenly coated.
Set them onto wax paper to cool about 15-ish minutes…
When they’ve cooled and hardened, it’s time for the ‘crunch’ of a lifetime…
If you can control yourself~ take a moment to soak in the beauty!
NOW, you can lose control…
Eat as many as you’d like! ~Enjoy! 🙂
Sweet!!These strawberries look amazing and perfect! Thanks for another wonderful dessert!!
I am making these tomorrow to celebrate the Seahawks victory in the Superbowl! They look awesome. They remind me of the candied fruit we used to eat on the beach in Italy as kids. They did this exact thing to oranges, pineapple pears even lemons.. They were so good. I can’t wait.
Making these right now ( the sugar doesn’t want to golden up) but it will get there! Tried a batch with some anise since my husband loves the stuff.
I made these but after awhile they got all water but candy was still hard and good other than watery y
