Sometimes maintaining a pretense of manners at the table gets so tiring doesn’t it?!..haha!
Especially when you’re starving, staring at all that amazing food, and you want nothing more than to throw manners to the wind and shove that food directly into your face hole. Sometimes waiting for someone to “pass the bread” just isn’t an option..lol!
Well..I’ve developed a way to grab yourself some gooey, cheesy, ‘garlicy’ filled..buttery-flaky crusted bread without making a scene at the table. SCORE!
Yep~ these glorious little Garlic Bread Hand Pies are what a hungry man’s dreams are made of. It’s now totally socially acceptable to grab at that food with your hands, because well..these are ‘HAND’-Pies..so yeah!
Each buttery, flaky, pie is stuffed with all things garlic bread! I’m talking butter, Garlic, cheese..and did I mention CHEESE!? Set these down on the table for the perfect game-day snack!
Grab yourself 1 or 4 and taste the delicious instant satisfaction that only a Garlic Bread Hand Pie can give you! 🙂
~Make LOTS!
What you’ll need:
2 containers of Pillsbury Seamless Dough Sheets (or regular crescents will work, just pinch those seams together)
2 tbsp. butter..melted
1 tsp. Oregano
1 tsp. of chopped garlic..but you can use as much as you’d like!
8 oz. of soft Mozzarella sliced
oil for frying..I used Canola
a 3″ round cutter
Directions:
Chop the garlic and add it into the melted butter and Oregano…
Lay out the dough sheets and brush on the butter mixture onto one of the sheets…
Slice the Mozzarella into approx. 1/2″ slices…and add a single layer of the sliced cheese…
Place the top dough sheet onto the cheese, and gently roll it with the rolling pin just to stick the together.
Now, cut out your pies…
Use a fork to pretty up those edges, and make sure they stay put…
Fry them up one at a time in the hot (350 degree) oil, until they’re evenly golden…
Let them cool for a few seconds if you can wait. And serve those beauties up…
Then DIG IN! ~Enjoy! 🙂
Wow Amy these look amazing!!! Mozzarella sticks are one of my favorite guilty pleasures! Can’t wait to make these!!!!
Thank you!! 🙂 Hope you enjoy them!
Was dying to try these but didn’t have any crescent rolls/sheets so I mixed enough bisquick to cut two tops and two bottoms rolls real thin. Followed the rest of the recipe as written. They cooked for probably 2 minutes or so a side and were perfect. Also, want to try it with the crescents and try doing them on the panini press. Loved them
YAY! 🙂
This Looks so delish, Amy!!!!! Do you think these will bake up as nicely? Maybe with a nice egg-wash to seal it? Have you tried it? What do you think? Trying to find was to get away from frying for those who don’t want the extra oil/calories. You can also totally turn this into a dessert. Good stuff!!!!
Thank you 🙂 And yes..they should do fine in the oven, just seal them very well, like you said! Let me know how they turn out!
Came here for this! Also really wanted to try baking as well, and hope they turn out as amazing looking.
Hope you love it! 🙂
Amy, did you brush the tops with the garlic butter after you fried them, too? I’m making these tonight and was wondering. It looks like it in your pictures!
Never mind! I did brush them with the garlic better after frying them. First, my hubby was speechless, then he said it was ridiculous! These were incredible!! 10 stars, not 5! Way to go! 😀
how about adding some chopped jalapeno, it would be like a jalapeno popper.
YES!! 🙂
Anyone know of a good bread machine recipe for the dough?
