So, what do you do when you’ve been kindly ‘vontunteered’ to bring a cake to a kid’s Birthday party? Or…a grown Man’s Birthday party?..LOL! You can either create something unforgettable and magical, or you can run to the store and purchase a typical, yet so convenient cake! Well, I did both! Yep..I bought a scrumptious frosted Chocolate cake, took it home and transformed it into something that people are still talking about!
I chose to use Cocoa Puffs because that’s this particular Man-child’s favorite cereal {how lucky is his wife..lol?}, but you can actually use any cereal you’d like! The Puffs become one with the cake and literally add the most amazing flavor and texture to each bite. The Cream Glaze takes it over the top! It’s a no-brainer since “Milk” is always great with cereal..AND Frosting is always great with cake..haha!
~Throw one of these show-stoppers together in minutes and you will be a cake hero for at least a few hours! 😉
What you’ll need:
1 Box of Cocoa Puffs..or any cereal!
1 Store bought frosted cake..or you can make your own!
The Cream Glaze:
2 cups Powdered Sugar
approx. 2 tbsp. Heavy Cream (this amount will vary, stop when it’s thick!)
Directions:
Make sure the cake is frosted, and start sticking the cereal to it. Make sure to cover the whole cake for dramatic effect..lol!
Mix the Powdered Sugar and the Cream and pour that Glaze all over the cake, until you hear oooh’s and ahhh’s from everyone who can see it!
Slice that cake…
… and eat up! ~Enjoy! 🙂
What an awesome idea! I’m not a chocolate fan, but love the idea. Thinking for my daughter’s birthday I could do this with a white cake and fuity puffs. Hmm… I like it!! Wouldn’t that be a great breakfast – I’d be the coolest mom ever. Thanks for the inspiration!
This is sooo going to happen for my son’s sleepover birthday this weekend! And, cha what man doesn’t like Cocoa Pebbles?!
Can’t wait to show you, wish me luck and good baking vibes ????
