When Krusteaz offered to send me their amazing products, I was so excited, I think I may have squealed just a little bit! I’ve been a Krusteaz fan since as far back as I can remember, and now I get the chance to create as many tasty Krusteaz treats as I want?! Someone pinch me!
The first unique and amazing recipe that I wanted to try was this Pancake Bread! This recipe came to me not a moment too soon, because it was “breakfast for dinner night” at out house! Do you ever have one of those nights, where you just want Breakfast for um..dinner??! If not, you should really give it a try, its almost better than breakfast for breakfast..in the morning! You can get super creative and add a savory spin to just about any of your mundane morning meals. But this Pancake Bread did the job, and made the dinner deliciously delightful!
Each thick slice of this bread is like a warm, moist, tender slab of Pancake..if you can imagine that!! I even had fun with it and layered them up, topping each slice with a generous smear of ‘maple syrup cinnamon butter’ and sticky cascades of err..syrup! Welll..it is Pancakes after all..lol! 🙂
You can NOT mess this recipe up~ There’s no yeast, no kneading, no waiting for it to rise, or hoping it doesn’t fall. None of the typical bread making stresses, and the best part you ask?? …you’re left with thick, unique totally Pancakey slices of bread that are just waiting to be slathered in Maple Syrup Cinnamon BUTTER~ that’s right!
~Now do you see where we’re going? THIS IS THE BEST breakfast for dinner bread ever! A fluffy omelet, some sausage and you’re in business!
Good night to us! And, I say “US”..because one of YOU have a chance to win THIS prize pack of “Breakfast For Dinner” KRUSTEAZ Pancake and Belgium Waffle products!
Then you can make this pancake bread and TONS of other pancake things too! Maybe even enjoy your very own “Breakfast for dinner” creation!

What you’ll need:
1 cup of dry Krusteaz pancake mix
1 cup self rising flour
1 cup water OR milk
1 tsp. butter..melted
syrup, cinnamon for topping.
A small bread loaf pan.
Directions:
In a medium bowl combine the pancake mix, flour and liquid..mix well into a dough..
Place the dough into a non-stick sprayed SMALL bread loaf pan. If you use a large pan, it won’t rise as much!

Let it cool before flipping it out…
While it’s cooling, mix up the Maple Syrup Cinnamon Butter…2 tbsp. Butter, a splash of syrup and a dash of cinnamon..that’s it!
Slice it up and stack it up to be pancake-like and cute…
Butter it up…
And smear it on…
Add your fave pancake toppings…
Like Syrup…
And dig on in! ~Enjoy! 🙂

My family loves to have picnics in the living room of our house especially on stormy days.. It makes them less scared of the thunder and lightning!!
WE WILL DO EVERYONE GETS WHAT THEY WANT NIGHT. IT IS USUALLY JUST FUN LITTLE THINGS SO THAT IT ISN’T TOO MUCH WORK, BUT WE HAVE FUN TRYING A LITTLE OF WHAT EVERYONE HAS PICKED.
When I was younger my Mom would fix us pancakes with Spam and eggs for dinner. We would layer the Spam and eggs between the pancakes, then pour on the syrup, Yummy. When I became a Mom I would fix my children the same but substitute bacon for the Spam. They loved it.
Our favorite switch up is breakfast for dinner. We make pancakes or French toast with eggs and bacon!
Breakfast for Dinner! Every Thursday it is pancakes and sausage for dinner. It is a wonderful ‘comfort’ meal! A few years ago we hosted a young gal from Germany for a semester. She loved Thursday’s Breakfast for Dinner so much she continued the tradition when she returned home. Occasionally she emails my husband from Germany and says “It’s Thursday – are the pancakes ready? I’ll be right over!”
I am a single Mom and my kiddos and I love to have Smorgasbord Night! Everyone picks things from the fridge and freezer that are easily warmed up or made and we go to work fixing it all and then set everything out in a fun buffet for all to eat what they want! No rules and all are happy!!! (Plus it cleans out the fridge…added bonus!)
For us it is Breakfast for Dinner!! My hubby loves it and it is so fast to make for him when he is starving!
Breakfast for dinner is the best! I get out my griddle and cook up whatever the kids want, from pancake, french toast, hash browns, eggs, meats, whatever they want.. adding in extras to the mix.. like blueberries and chunks of cheesecake, mini chips, sprinkles etc. makes it extra special!
When my kids were younger (and then the tradition passed to my grandkids) we would have “Breakfast” for “Dinner” nights! Everyone would get into their PJ’s to eat dinner. Everyone needs something that will make memories with their children and grandchildren. I hope that I am around long enough to see this passed onto my great grandchildren!

Our favorite switch-up is going old school! My hubby and I talk about then we make them happen! Of course folks back in the day were not worried about the calorie intake or if it is heart healthy, so we forget about the calories and just enjoy! Obviously we don’t do it too often but it is worth it when we do!
Love your ideas! Always over the top! Hugs from Canada
Thank you so much! 🙂
If there is something huge to watch on TV like the Superbowl, a favorite movie or season finale of something like Survivor (2 hours plus 1 hour reunion show) we like to spread out “dinner” My husband and I will review what foods we are “hankering for”…I dig out the recipes or search for new ones. Then I will have prepared 3-4 appetizers where we just ‘graze’ and watch our show. It was after the superbowl one time that over 3 hours of watching and consuming stuffed jalapenos (peppers stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon) that I said afterward “OMG, we just consumed one package of bacon between the two of us!!!” So you can understand we don’t eat like this often maybe once or twice a year! But it’s soooooooooo fun.
On the weekends, my husband and I have picnics on our bed. We will watch movies and/or tv shows and just eat a meal in there.
Pizza omelet – all the good pizza toppings inside and sauce over it all!
Any special reason that you use Krusteaz? Could any pancake mix be used?
Yes~ Krusteaz supplied their amazing products! And, yes..I think any mix would work! 🙂
The one dinner everyone can agree upon in our household is breakfast! I will definitely make this along with the biscuit and gravy casserole so the meat lovers are happy too!! Thank you for this!!
One thing everyone can agree upon in our household for dinner is breakfast! The winner was your Biscuits and Gravy casserole, now I will have a side for that, the Pancake bread! Thank you for this recipe! Now the meat lovers and sweet lovers will be happy.
Boring and basic, but the biggest thing for me is just having breakfast at dinner.
Blueberry pancakes and bacon for dinner! This was a special treat growing up – we kids loved it but my Dad was pretty conventional and he liked dinner for dinner. 🙂
My other favorite unconventional dinner is the one that I started with my nieces and nephew and they call it Apple-teaser Nite. Our first one, when I was taking care of them for a week, was outside – blanket spread on the ground with everyone picking one thing they wanted that night. Yummy and fun.
Bed picnic is my favorite. That is where we go out and get everything people might want, and then lay it all out on the bed and pick and choose while watching a movie.
