Ahhh, so my love of word mash-ups is alive and well.. along with my love of recipe mash-ups, as evidenced here.  

Yeah, I thought it would be a great idea to combine good old innocent apple pie with whiskey.. and then ummm, deep fry it..go figure!  I didn’t know yet that not only was I creating something crazy & delicious, but also one of the cutest, weirdest, and funny recipe names ever,, : ‘Whapple Pie’ :  

Yes, “WHAPPLE PIE” ~  just try and say ‘WHAPPLE’ without smiling.. I don’t think it’s possible.  Whapple, of course, is the morphed/mash-up of Whiskey and Apples.. exciting, I know..haha!  If you feel funny saying it now.. after two boozy bites, you won’t.  #winning  

But, more than its adorable name, is the adorably adult dessert that it stands for.  

Nite-nite kiddos, it’s adult dessert time. 

Behold, whiskey-battered, deep-fried until golden, sweet, succulent, apple pie!

OH, it’s real, and it’s spectacular!  Horrify delight your closest family and friends with this quick and easy, HUGE WOW FACTOR dessert of all desserts.

What you’ll need:

1 frozen apple pie

2 cups prepared pancake batter (with the whiskey replacing the water)

Whiskey of your choice.. approx 1 cup (optional, water is fine)

caramel topping

chopped nuts

powdered sugar

oil for frying

Directions:

Mix up the pancake batter, but replace the water with the whiskey…

Stir to combine…

Now, cut the FROZEN apple pie into 8 equal sized wedgeskeep them frozen individually, until right before frying!

Coat one of the apple pie wedges generously in the batter, and fry in the hot (350 degree) oil, until evenly golden…

Let them cool for a few minutes…

Then top with all the goodies… some nuts & powdered sugar perhaps?!

ORrrr caramel…

Then serve it up…

Grab a plate for ummm..YOU..
